1. Role and Functions

Provide customer service and manage the placement and negotiation process with Insurers.

2. Features of the position

  • Key trade credit and marine insurance responsibilities

2.1 Tasks related to Placement (with Underwriters)

  • Prepare necessary documents (such as applications) for policy renewals and new business ahead of client meetings with Account Managers
  • Prepare underwriting submissions and placing slips for renewals and new business
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with underwriters
  • Compile and analyze quotations and options
  • Prepare marketing summaries
  • Coordinate and prepare presentation documents in various formats as needed (such as Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe)
  • Prepare lists, tables and reports as needed

2.2 Tasks related to Client Service

  • Follow up with clients for outstanding items (such as documents, information, signatures, etc)
  • Respond to client questions and requests on an ongoing basis
  • Review, analyze and comment on contracts, bids and other client documents to identify insurance requirements as needed
  • Coordinate and treat requests for certificates of insurance
  • Treat and respond to client requests for modifications to policies throughout the term, and identify new insurance needs if applicable
  • Draft letters, memos and other forms of communication

2.3 Tasks related to Business relationship development with Insurers

  • Attend industry networking events
  • Participate in ongoing training and workshops

2.4 Tasks related to Key Trade Credit and Marine Insurance Responsibilities

  • Respond to cargo insurance referrals in the Quick Assure online platform
  • Manage spot shipment requests from existing EGR clients
  • Buyer limit appeals and monitoring credit limits
  • Manage various country and buyer risk reports
  • Approach insurers for syndication and additional credit capacity

3. Job requirement

  • Hold a BAC in administration or a DEC in insurance or another appropriate discipline
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role either as a Broker or as an insurer in the field of personal and / or business damage insurance.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of the underwriting field.
  • Possess an AMF damage insurance license or is willing to take the necessary steps to obtain it.
  • Be bilingual English-French (an asset).
